The impressionistic summary work of Annette Balsgaard are deeply impressed by nature and all its various facets. Balsgaard, who lives in Denmark, is fascinated by the interaction of colour, form, and kind within the pure world, and attracts upon these parts in crops, bushes, and the atmosphere as an entire. Her favourite issues in nature are imperfect–she believes that the imperfections and oddities are what make the world fascinating, in each people and animals. She additionally seeks to seize and convey the moods of nature: the dynamism of spring, the peacefulness of a meadow, and even the violence of a summer season storm. Balsgaard prefers working with acrylics, and paints for hours at a time, layering pigments one on high of the opposite to create a wealthy textural panorama that radiates with power.
